3 Sauces for Sockeye Salmon Burgers

April 30th, 2024

Hot Honey Ranch, Alabama White Sauce, and Green Mojo Mayo for Grilled Salmon

Wild-caught sockeye salmon burgers are delicious when dressed with classic condiments — mayo, mustard, ketchup. But if you have a few spare minutes while preparing for a summer gathering, you can put together a few condiments that will elevate grilled salmon burgers. This trio of salmon burger sauces will add fun, flavor, and variety to any cookout. Try serving these sauces with grilled salmon fillets, too.

Each of the sauces featured below makes about 2 cups each, per condiment. All of them can be stored in a covered container and refrigerated for up to a week.

Hot Honey Ranch

A drizzle of honey and cool, tangy buttermilk balance out the spice — their the key ingredients to this hot honey ranch sauce. Enjoy this as a dip for baked fish cakes or as a condiment for salmon burgers.

Alabama White Sauce for Seafood

This vinegary, garlicky white sauce is the perfect consistency for drizzling over wild-caught seafood from Alaska. It's a great finishing touch for a fish sandwich. Or, enjoy it as a runny, deliciously messy dip for steamed Dungeness crab.

Green Mojo Mayo for Seafood

Mojo (pronounced "MO-jo") is a ubiquitous Cuban sauce or marinade that typically includes citrus, garlic, herbs and spices. Blending these components into storebought mayo turns an otherwise predictable condiment into one that is vibrant and perfectly spicy.

Slather this Cuban-inspired green mojo mayo onto bread or a bun as the perfect complement to white fish or salmon.
