Wild Alaskan Company Acquires Kasilof Buying Station

February 12th, 2026

The Investment Reflects a Commitment to Improving Alaska's Working Waterfronts

Wild Alaskan Company Acquires Kasilof Buying Station to Strengthen Cook Inlet Fishery

Kasilof, Alaska — February 12, 2026 — Wild Alaskan Company today announced the acquisition of the Kasilof Buying Station, a riverfront facility serving Alaska’s second-largest sockeye salmon fishery. The investment reinforces access at the dock and reflects the company’s long-term commitment to improving Alaska’s working waterfronts and seafood infrastructure.

Located just inside the mouth of the Kasilof River, the buying station provides vessels with a direct offload point during the summer salmon season. Its location on Alaska’s road system allows seamless integration into Wild Alaskan Company’s national direct-to-consumer supply chain, strengthening speed, coordination, and market connectivity. Over the next several years, the company plans to invest in facility upgrades, expanded fishermen services, and operational improvements designed to improve handling, efficiency, and market access.

With tightening margins, rising costs, and growing global competition, Alaska’s seafood industry must generate more value from every pound harvested. That means investing in better dockside handling, stronger infrastructure, improved traceability, and closer alignment with markets that reward quality. Wild Alaskan Company believes quality at scale is essential to keeping the fishery economically strong for the long term.

The company has invested heavily in end-to-end supply chain technology to build a more integrated, connected seafood system. The Kasilof Buying Station will serve as a pilot site to demonstrate how better tech-enabled coordination from dock to table can strengthen fishermen’s economics while delivering higher-quality seafood nationwide.

The company expects the next phase of investment and development at the facility to unfold over several years. During that time, Wild Alaskan Company intends to partner with an experienced operator with established ties to the fishery and to collaborate closely with current stakeholders to maintain reliable offload access and ensure fish continue to move efficiently as improvements are made.

“Growing up in a multigenerational commercial fishing family, I’ve seen how economic pressure shows up first at the dock,” said Arron Kallenberg, Founder and CEO of Wild Alaskan Company. “This investment reinforces that first link in the value chain — expanding market access for fishermen, preserving quality, and strengthening the connection between local fishing communities and families across the country.”

For Wild Alaskan Company, the project represents a commitment not only to infrastructure, but to the people and families who depend on it.

“I grew up on the Kenai Peninsula, so this acquisition and what we hope to achieve over the next few years on the Kasilof hold deep personal significance for me,” Kallenberg added. “We’re proud to invest in infrastructure that supports local fishing communities today, strengthens the future of this fishery, and delivers wild-caught Alaskan seafood to tables across the country.”

The transaction closed on February 12, 2026.
